Dear guest and new staff members,

ようこそ Youkoso and a big welcome to Akari House / Tamanegi House and the wonderful town of Nozawa Onsen. Your host family Akari, Luca, Kyoko, Gab and the Akari House Swiss Bakery Team are welcoming you in the Japanese Alps. You have settled in in one of the snowiest places on earth. On average we do get over 16 meters of snow fall over the winter month December – May.

This traditional and friendly farmer village is also our home since 2010. Before settling down in Nozawa Onsen Kyoko and Gab were both living and working in Switzerland and various parts of the world. Gab was born and raised in the Swiss Alps and has been skiing since the age 2. We are happy that we can pass on our passion for skiing and the mountain lifestyle to our kids.

In 2003 Kyoko and Gab fell in love in Western Australia when they met in Perth. Since then we always loved that corner of the world and have still many connections and friends down under. We feel very lucky to have spent time together in different parts of this world but are happy to have our family home now in Nozawa Onsen. In September 2016 Akari chan our daughter has enlightened our lives and we are grateful to have her with us. Our second party legend is called Luca and you will see and hear him during your stay no doubt.

We do wish you a great stay in Nozawa Onsen.

We are currently seeking motivated all-rounders to join both our Café and Lodging departments for the upcoming season.
