We have four different sized apartments to suit almost any visitor to Nozawa Onsen. From a couple studios to a large 4 bedroom apartment, Akari House is the solution to your accommodation needs. Or treat yourself and the family and stay in our self contained ski chalets and enjoy a once in a lifetime Japan Ski Holiday . Tamanegi house can sleep up to 12 person and is a unique space for you and your friends in walking distance to Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort and the Karasawa ski lift.

Our newly renovated Shinden House is in top location too and can sleep easily 10 to 15 person. From Shinden House take a free public Shuttle bus directly to the Nozawa Ski Resort and Nagasaka Gondola without carrying your skis around town.

Also newly renovated Yubaba House is your perfect downtown location in Nozawa Onsen. Small units in modern Japanese style make your Nozawa Ski Holiday unique. All Units are self contained and in walking distance to Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort. A 10 minute walk brings you to the Nagasaka Gondola or walk across to the nearby moving walkway, Hikage area and Nozawa Onsen Kids park.

Akari House Swiss Bakery

The Swiss Bakery is located 50 meters up from Nakao Onsen, inside the same building as our Akari House Apartments and was established by local Swiss resident Gab Sutter and his family. After some beer and the following late night chat, we decided to buy a bakery oven online and started baking Swiss bread, pastries and other tasty snacks. Our in house Cafe is cozy and close to the Karasawa lift and Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort.

Our in-house bakery team is baking an every changing range of Swiss bakery treats and other European snacks. All our products are hand made, with love and freshly prepared in the early morning hours . Our bakers, pastry chefs and Pizzaiolos have been trained in Europe - Switzerland and bring their European bread and baking skills to Nozawa Onsen, Japan.

Come and visit us during the day in our cafe for freshly baked goods or in the evening for our Italian-style pizzas!

How to Get to Akari House

Traveling from Tokyo is simple and scenic:

1. Shinkansen (Bullet Train): Take the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Iiyama Station.

2. Nozawa Onsen Liner (Bus): From Iiyama, take the shuttle bus directly to Nozawa Onsen.

3. Arrival: Get off at the Shinden bus stop. We are just a short walk from there.
